Summary: Overall our stay was okay. The house was basic. We stayed for month. It took us awhile to get accustomed to the area and what could be found there. We are a couple in our fifties and this was our first experience in Central America. It would have been nice to have been given a detailed info/welcome package on the house and the area. We would have then been prepared for gecko poop and scorpions! We made breakfasts and lunches at the house but found it difficult to cook many dinners besides pasta/rice there. It was just too hot to cook in the kitchen and it would take awhile for the little gas burners to cook anything. We soon learned to eat dinners in the local restaurants and hostels for very little money. The bed was comfortable enough and we really enjoyed the hammocks. The plus of the property is the location to the beach and the peacefulness of the property. We enjoyed fresh coconuts and coconut water most days but we were a little disappointed as we thought the property was filled with "fruit trees." Lots of coconuts yes, but we envisioned mangos, avocados etc. when the property was described as having fruit trees. Would we come back? Maybe. The beach is incredible and for very little money you can rent a surfboard and go out surfing right in front of the house. Surfing is good for beginners. Fishing with local fishermen was fun but did not catch a lot of fish. The mangrove kayak tour was very enjoyable. We also arranged a trip with a local young man up the Cosigüina Volcano. It was a pleasure to get to know some of the local families. If we were to return to this area, we would again rent this house. We met other people renting a couple of other properties and they had bat/cleanliness issues.
