Nestled at the end of a quiet road, Shady Oak Cottage offers the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
As you arrive, you’ll enter through the foyer that connects the house to the garage. This welcoming space leads you into the four-season room, featuring wall-to-wall windows that offer stunning views of the backyard. Here, you can relax and watch the local wildlife that often visits. This bright and airy room is perfect for reading, enjoying a cup of coffee, or simply soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds you.
From the sunroom, you’ll find easy access to our fully stocked kitchen, dining room, and cozy living room equipped with a large smart TV. The first floor is designed for convenience and comfort, with a bedroom that includes a full bed and a TV, a full bathroom, and a laundry area. This layout ensures that everything you need is within easy reach, making your stay as comfortable as possible.
Heading upstairs, you’ll discover a landing area with a desk, providing a perfect spot for those who need to work from home. The second floor features two additional bedrooms, each equipped with smart TVs. One bedroom has a king bed, and the other has a queen bed. These rooms share a spacious Jack and Jill bathroom, offering ample space and privacy for guests. Additionally, a balcony runs between the two bedrooms, providing a peaceful place to enjoy the view of the backyard.
Outside, the backyard is equipped for both relaxation and entertainment. Enjoy evenings around the fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows and stargazing. Please note that from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, this is our busiest season. During this time, check-in is at 5 PM and check-out is at 11 AM strictly. We kindly ask that you plan to arrive and depart at these times, as early check-ins and late check-outs are typically not possible.
Important Info:
In the winter months, it is highly advisable to have access to a vehicle equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or 4x4 capabilities. Although our roads and driveway are paved, heavy snowfall is possible, and having AWD or 4x4 will significantly enhance your mobility and safety.
Please note that we offer a starter pack of household essentials including paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, and dish detergent. Additionally, if the property features a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, cleaning agents for those are also provided. We strongly advise guests staying for longer durations or with larger groups to bring their own supplies beyond the starter pack. Once the complimentary essentials are depleted, guests are responsible for replenishing them.
Furthermore, the house comes equipped with cooking ware such as pots, pans, plates, utensils, and baking dishes. However, personal grocery items like seasonings, flour, and sugar are the responsibility of the guests to provide.

Q. Can you check in early or check out late?
-A. We won't know if this is possible until the day before check in. The reason is if we have a guest leaving the day you are arriving our team needs enough time to ensure the house is ready for your arrival. In the event they finish early we can let you in earlier. For a late check out, it will depend on if we have a booking arriving that day. One way to ensure you getting either of these options is to book the day before or the day after your desired stay . This way if you want to book Friday-Sunday but you want to arrive at 9am on Friday, if you book Thursday the house will be available for you any time after check in time on Thursday.
Q. Do you offer any discounts or "can I you provide additional discounts because of x"?
-A. Our listed price is the best possible price we offer at this time. There are bigger discounts that get applied for each day you add from 3 days and up .
Q. Do you supply fire wood?
-A. Fire wood is not something we supply, you will need to buy your own.
Q. What's the latest we can check in?
-A. Anytime after 5pm is fine, there is no cut off.
Q. Do we have to bring propane to use the grill?
-A. No, that is something that is at the house already. We typically have 1 canister attached to the grill and other spare somewhere nearby on the property.
Q. Do I need to bring sheets or towels?
-A. All beds shown on the listing will have be made with their own linens prior to check-in. There is bath towels for the number of guests on your reservation provided.
