Summary: I stayed at the hotel for nine nights. The room was small but that was okay since I really just needed a place to sleep since I was going to do a lot of sightseeing. I have always loved the Sofitel chain. My favorite is the Sofitel in Washington DC. So, when I booked this room in Paris I expected an exceptional experience. Their breakfast buffet left very little to be desired. I ordered pancakes one morning they were cold, dry and rubbery. The next morning I ordered soft boiled eggs. The eggs were hard boiled. The cost of the breakfast is obscene at $39 euros per person. Definitely not worth it. While it is more convenient to just have breakfast at the hotel, after the first two, I decided to just explore and look for a cafe for the duration of my stay. A few afternoons I had the do not disturb sign on my door because I wanted to take a little nap before I went back out. Every time I was in the room to nap, the housekeeping staff called the room to ask when they can come to clean. That was one of the most aggravating things. The first time this happened I did not answer the phone. Immediately after the housekeeping staff called again. They continued to call until I finally answered. I stopped to ask the concierge about tickets to the opera garnier to tour. I was told they don’t do tours.
