The space
This area has plenty to offer for all types of travelers - whether you want to cozy up with a good read, venture out on beautiful hikes, shop at locally-owed boutique businesses in both Clayton and Highlands, sample wine at local wineries or try our delicious local cuisine, NE Georgia and SW North Carolina is for you!
With a fenced yard, the property is perfect for bringing the pups along on your vacation.
The Layout:
You will enter Rabun Retreat from the "mudroom," this space has black and white marble-look tile, a desk workspace, daybed and armoire for storing jackets, coats and scarves. As you continue through the home, on the left you will see the gourmet kitchen with 6-burner gas range, soapstone countertops and custom cabinetry. To the right, is the master bedroom and bathroom with an incredibly comfortable king-sized bed, luxury linens and a private ensuite bath with separate marble shower and clawfoot soaking tub, as well as a water closet. This is truly a delightful space. Continuing through the home, you will see a powder room and a dining table for 5 open to a vaulted ceiling living space with linen sectional sofa, gas fireplace and TV. The views from this living room (especially in the winter) are unmatched. Stunning custom sliders open to the covered brick-floor patio with solo stove firepit and firewood for your use.
As you make your way upstairs, you'll find there are 2 bedrooms, one with a full bed and one with a twin bed and full-size crib; there is also a loft-like space with fold-out queen sofa as well as many children's' toys and a television for their use - it's great to be able to leverage this space for the kids while the adults utilize downstairs - there is also a baby gate to block off the stairs, if desired. A full bath with cast-iron tub/shower combo and oversized marble-top vanity is also in this upstairs space in addition to the laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer.
