The home's location is great for those who want to get away from it all but is a short drive to neighboring towns for those who wish to be more in the action of the local festivities and events. Located between Traverse City and Charlevoix, guests wanting to enjoy the Cherry Festival, Film Festival or Venetian Festival will be about 30 minutes from their destination. Equestrian festival goers will find this the perfect spot to stay as it is only 16 miles from Flintfields.
When not busy touring the surrounding area, guests will find all of the comforts of home at Mission View House. The real draw of the home is the beautiful sandy private frontage on Grand Traverse Bay. Guests will enjoy the views of the water from the home during all seasons - we definitely recommend having a camera ready for the stunning sunsets. Summer guests will enjoy having a private beach for lounging, swimming and building sand castles. We welcome guests to gather around the firepit, use the provided marshmallow sticks to create a yummy treat and discuss the next day's adventures and reminisce about the memories created while vacationing at Mission View.
In the home, guests will appreciate all of the comforts and conveniences of the well stocked home. In the kitchen, there is everything needed to prepare a home cooked meal including pots, pans, utensils, mixer, blender, plates, etc. Guests have the option to dine at the indoor dining table or if weather permits, we recommend sitting on the deck at the outdoor dining set. The lower level has a wet bar area- a sink, refrigerator and coffee pot make this area a perfect place to store extra beverages. The lower level has access to the backyard/ waterfront side making it the perfect place to refill your cup when lounging outdoors.
The main level has a living room space as does the lower level giving ample room for guests to spread out and relax. The home has an ample amount of board games and cards, TV with cable, and wifi ensuring there is never a dull moment even on a rainy or snowy day.
With three bathrooms and 4 bedrooms plus the loft sleeping space, there is plenty of privacy and space for 8 guests. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and attached bathroom on the main level. The guest room on the main level also has a queen sized bed.
In the loft area, there are two twin beds. This room leads into a perfect space for kids who wish to bring sleeping bags or play games in their own private space.
The first bedroom in the lower level has a queen sized bed. The second has two twins. There is a full bathroom located on the lower level as well.
While the home does not have central air, there are window units in the living room and master bedroom to help on those really hot days- but trust us the breeze from the lake keeps the home at a comfortable temperature most of the summer.

Guest capacity for the home is NOT to be exceeded at any time. Guests not adhering to this rule could face a fine or eviction as outlined in our terms and conditions that are agreed upon by renting our home. Capacity is strictly enforced and randomly checked.
We will provide a starter package of paper towel, toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap and/or dishwasher tabs if a dishwasher is available at the property. Depending on the length of your stay, you may need to purchase more of these items. Other items not included in this list are not guaranteed.
