Turn right out of the entrance and a short walk takes you to the harbour, turn left takes you along one of the most award-winning and photographed cliff walks towards the 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle, a spectacular walk for all age groups.
Whinstone House is a perfect place to relax and unwind with the contemporary interior, designed to offer a peaceful atmosphere. The open plan living room has seating for eight where you can unwind and catch up on your favourite TV on the large Smart TV, there is also an Alexa speaker for fun, games and music. The well-equipped kitchen and good size dining area is ideal should you wish to dine in if you are not visiting one of the many delicious restaurants around the area. The bedrooms are all light and airy with cosy beds and high-quality bed linen presented beautifully. The large kingsize master room has French doors out to the garden and a handy en-suite shower room. There are an additional two double rooms and a bunk room.
The local pub offers its famous crab sandwiches and sea food platters, all sourced locally, and a fabulous range of drinks with an amazing outdoor seating area overlooking the stunning views of the harbour and Dunstanburgh Castle. Craster is renowned for its famous ’Craster Kippers’, featured on many TV programmes, so be sure to try some.
The many villages surrounding Craster each have character and charm with beautiful beaches and friendly village inns. A trip into Alnwick is a must, home to the Duke of Northumberland and featured as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. The historic village of Bamburgh should be on your to do list with a stunning golden sandy beach and outstanding views of Bamburgh Castle.
