Positive: The apartments management/service team were GREAT and responded quickly & checked in on you daily via WhatsApp. Layout was nice, the gift of donuts upon self check in was well received. Bedding was good. Insect/cockroach exterminator was sent quickly. Restaurants/supermarkets/pharmacy nearby. Get to see how a local may live. 3 reverse cycle air-conditioning units for heating/cooling. Portable clothes line to dry clothes. Generally speaking safe & Comfortable. The management team resolved issues & feedback promptly. The feedback we gave them was well received.
Negative: 2 different addresses. The address on booking.com was different from the address the host provided us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp address was the correct address. Given to us by the host company.This makes finding the location in the dark with an Uber or taxi difficult. Creates trust issues, because I use/trust booking.com to ensure I am not getting scammed or ripped off, hence rather/glad to prepay through booking. Although it all worked out, booking needs to be more stringent, ensuring the information received from the accommodation provider is correct. Imagine rocking up at 3am from the international airport to the wrong address with family and bags in a foreign country having no idea where you are, in the pitch black of darkness? I'm glad I booked another hotel for the first few days with a 24 hour check-in because we did arrive at 3am. But we ended up going through this at the apartment after 8pm+ because check in is after 3pm.. Luckily for us the careem driver was nice & my wife speaks fluent Arabic, so we could sort it out. The room needed cleaning upon arrival. (Sweeping the floor, spray and wipe tables etc) A few cockroaches, the team sent an exterminator. Water from shower leaks to bathroom floor, no shower door. Shampoos etc offered were empty and needed to be topped up the next day. The building is old, you can hear traffic all night long and cold air gets in somewhere. The inside looks better than the outside, so keep the curtains closed also for privacy because buildings are very close together. The lift is small and old, The wall of the building is exposed as the lift moves so be careful, don't lean the wrong way so as to avoid damage to clothes or injuries. The kitchenette was good but cramped. No detergent for the washing machine upon arrival. Had to purchase things upon arrival, but the team did bring things like toilet paper & detergent the next day after I advised them, they also brought the cleaner back.
