Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, is 2.4 miles away and can also be reached across the fields. Tenterden, with its tree-lined High Street, offers some lovely shops, pavement cafes and restaurants and it is also the starting point for the Kent & East Sussex Railway. The pretty neighbouring village of Cranbrook, a 5-mile drive, has a windmill, museum and offers an array of independent shops.
