Welcome to The Whitewater Outpost. Escape to the mountains and relax. We are nestled at the edge of the Cherokee National Forest, overlooking the Pigeon River. Whitewater Outpost is situated on over 18 acres surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. Conveniently located minutes off I-40 in Cosby Tennessee we are just minutes from The Great Smoky Mountains National Park where outdoor recreational activities abound. We are close to Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Biltmore Estates, and Seiverville, Knoxville.
The Cataloochee tiny home is a large 10'x34' home. The home is in a permanent location hooked up to septic, electricity, and has city water. The home has a comfy den, coffee/eating nook, kitchen with an electric stove and microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer, and farm style sink. The bathroom has a residential styled toilet, a 36" shower stall, and a small sink for your hygiene needs. The bedroom is comfy and private and has a queen sized bed. The loft area is elevated and has a queen sized bed with lots of windows overlooking the river. There are two mini splits for heating and cooling and each window also has a screen.
Enjoy the fire pit off to the side of the patio, have a picnic along the river, hike onto well-defined trails in the Cherokee National Forest directly from the property. You can also fish, or enjoy sitting by the river, or simply relax on the patio.
The Cataloochee is perfect for up to 4 adults or a small family.

The county road leading to our property is paved with easy access summer or winter. Our guests have private parking for up to two vehicles during their stay. The parking area is gravel. There is a smart lock for self-access to the tiny home which you have to yourselves.

Whitewater Outpost is just minutes off I-40 on the "adventure side" of the Smokies. Our neighbors are the Cherokee National Forest and the Pigeon River. We are half way between Asheville and Knoxville on I-40. Without leaving the property you have river access with a small beach area for relaxing, fishing, tubing, or rafting as weather allows. One of the most popular hiking trails in the area, Buzzards Roost Trail to Stone Mountain, can also be accessed without leaving the property. We are minutes away from numerous whitewater rafting companies, ziplining companies, and the Great Smoky Mountains Foothills Parkway. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Dollywood are all about 40 minutes away. We are minutes away from Maggie Valley and the Catalooche Valley for Elk viewing. Asheville and Knoxville are each 55 minutes away. Newport Tn is only 10 minutes away with many great restaurants and and major retailers.
The road leading to our property is paved for year around access. Our driveway and parking area are gravel. There is a driveway for northbound entrance/exit and one for the southbound entrance/exit.
If you need to head south from the property (left turn) please use the lower driveway.
