Located in the village of Hamden, The Cool Cat is within a 30 mile radius of nearby state parks which offer hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, kayaking, bicycle trails, and more. We have two kayaks with adult life jackets for use during your stay. You can chill or get your groove on in this unique and spacious 70's themed apartment that is located above our early 1900's Hardware Store and Gift Shop. The Cool Cat is located above our early 1900's operating Hardware Store and Gift Shop. The 70's themed apartment has two bedrooms with walk in closets, a fully stocked Kitchen and dining space, a full Bathroom and a spacious Livingroom. Our business is in operation six days a week, so you can expect to hear the brass shop bells ring as customers enter and exit our store. Please do not hesitate to come into the store to visit or shop. If you need a snack, grab a cold bottled pop out of our vintage Coke cooler and check out our selection of retro candies. We are pet friendly in the apartment and store. ONE pet is permitted to join you during your stay at The Cool Cat. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the space for you. But, it is a wonderfully unique space that has been decorated with Vintage items and stocked with all that you will need to experience/relive the 70's. In the living room, you can watch TV, play records, dance on the orange shag carpet under the disco ball lights, play games, read, and relax on the flower patterned, autumnal-colored velour sofa (just like grandma had). Please adhere to our non-smoking policy. Sorry, there is no handicap access. The Cool Cat is located on the second floor and requires you to climb two flights of stairs to access the apartment. Please watch children closely due to the stairs. Emergency roll down ladders are provided in case of a fire.
