Summary: We were looking for an inexpensive place near Marco Island. This was inexpensive. The Island Gypsy Bar and restaurant was a 5 minute walk. Food was incredible and staff there are awesome. Upon checkin, we were double booked. I walked in on a family eating dinner. Called the owner who shared he had tried to reach me by email. They quickly put us two rooms down, bought our dinner and then switched us back to our original room the next day.. The room was very clean, but the air conditioners in the windows were loud and not consistent with temperature. In the middle of the night, the air conditioner in the bedroom started leaking on my husband’s head. We got up and moved the bed over. The shower was luke warm at best. I reported it, and am not sure what happened. All three days were the same. I reported it-to the owner who said it was a brand new one and he Would get with maintenance. The smell of marijuana was prevalent and blew in through the air conditioner each day along with cigarette smoke.. We hate both, so left the room each time. Though we had some small issues, we mostly enjoyed the stay. The owner was extremely responsive and fair. We may visit again, but will be wiser knowing this information.
