3 Bedroom House in North Egremont, Egremont

Summary:
Enjoy your own, very private, post-and-beam, chalet-style tree house tucked into a tall, sun-dappled pine forest. The generous spaces include a great room that combines a large gourmet kitchen, dining area for 6, and spacious living room under the expanse of a triple-height cathedral ceiling. Each bedroom/sleeping area has its own full bathroom, so that everyone can enjoy the comfort of their own guest suite. Full-size washer and dryer are available for your use.
The Space:
The large screened porch with outdoor dining area and the deck with grill and lounge chairs are perfect for outdoor living in spring, summer, and fall (or ski storage in winter).
AMENITIES
You'll sleep soundly on comfy Tulo mattresses and crisp white sheets from Brooklinen; play your music on our Sonos speaker; and watch your favorite shows on AppleTV. You'll have open access to the house, screened porch, and grassy yard. Since we value privacy on our own travels, we generally give guests lots of space. But we're nearby and happy to help. Check out our house book for tips. The location of the Egremont Tree House is close to Great Barrington, which has several grocery stores (both gourmet and large supermarkets), outstanding restaurants, coffee and tea shops, shopping, yoga, and more. You're also close to hiking, skiing, arts and cultural institutions, and more. You'll need a car to get here and get around. But you can walk to the Old Egremont Country Store (only 0.2 miles away). While the house has moderate cell service with AT&T and T-Mobile, the Berkshires are full of cellular dead zones, so you may want to download the region's maps to your device prior to your arrival.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We aim to create a relaxing, enjoyable stay at The Egremont Tree House, so we've taken care of most of the things you'll need, including fresh linens and towels, basic toiletries, basic kitchen equipment, and some pantry staples (e.g. olive oil, salt, etc.). If you're planning a big meal, or need something more specific, please check the House Guide, which includes more information, helpful tips, and general guidelines for guests.
WHAT TO BRING
The Berkshires are a stunning mountain region with all of the awesome piers of nature. Winters can be cold and snowy. Even during the height of Summer, nighttime in the Berkshires can be quite cool. We suggest that you pack several layers, including sweaters and cold-weather clothes to ensure that you'll be comfortable. (Don't worry: we've included some wool blankets to keep you warm during your stay.) In warmer months, we advise that you exercise good judgment to avoid pests (e.g. ticks) and other potential risks in the great outdoors, so we recommend that you bring (and wear) long pants and tall socks, and apply insecticides like Permethrin to your clothes.
WHAT TO DO WHILE YOU'RE HERE
Whether you're visiting during the busy summer arts festivals or during ski season, you'll find plenty of things to do. We've assembled a list of our favorites in the House Guide, and we're happy to answer additional questions by text.
IMPORTANT NOTES
We welcome families; please notify us at the time of booking if you would like to request a crib or pack-and-play. This is a smoke-free property. To ensure a safe and comfortable stay, the owners and of this property require that all guests sign a Short-term Rental agreement that clearly sets forth the terms and conditions of your stay. We provide detailed check-in information 5 days prior to your arrival, and we are pleased to answer your questions at any time. To provide protection in the case of damage, the owners of this property require a security deposit
Guest Access:
We provide electronic access to the house with a personal guest code. You'll receive the code 24 hours prior to check-in, though your code will only activate at check-in.
The Neighborhood:
The central location in the Southern Berkshires is ideal: only 8 minutes from Great Barrington, Hillsdale (NY), Catamount or Butternut Ski Areas, hiking in the Mt. Washington State Forest, Bash Bish Falls, and much more. Lounge on the screened porch, visit the nearby waterfalls and lake, or take in the culture, activities, and outstanding food offerings nearby. You'll be able to spread out and relax in this contemporary, airy tree house.
Getting Around:
You'll need a car to get here and get around and the drive will be beautiful! Since cell service can be inconsistent in the country, we recommend that you download the region's online maps to your phone before your trip.
Other Things to Note:

PETS
• The Posto Property Team loves animals, and we welcome potty-trained dogs aged 12 months or older, provided that guests receive prior approval from us, sign the pet waiver and indemnification, and pay the pet fee ($75 per pet). Please note that our insurance prevents us from accepting certain breeds and prohibits any animals with behavioral issues
• Please note that our furry friends can get dirty when they visit the country. Please exercise care with the furniture and linens; we encourage pet parents to bring towels to be used on them (do not use the towels/linens provided by the homeowner).
•We strongly encourage guests to consider the risks for pets' health in the country, including pests (ticks), wild animals (bears, coyotes, foxes, etc.), and more. Guests assume all responsibility for the health of their furry family members. We are not responsible for any hazards or risks
Nature & What to pack:
We urge guests to pay close attention when enjoying nature, weather can change quickly and wild animals can be surprising. Because temperatures in the mountains can fluctuate widely, even in the height of summer, we recommend packing sweaters and light, cold-weather gear just in case. Depending on the activities you plan, we recommend packing hiking, running, swimming, horseback riding, and/or running gear. We also recommend that guests consider spraying clothes with Permethrin when walking outside, to help avoid ticks. In winter we recommend guests pack several layers of warm clothing and ensure that their vehicles are ready for potential snowfall. For other clothing, most venues around are very casual.
Interaction with Guests:
Since we value privacy on our own travels, we generally give guests lots of space. But we're nearby and happy to help.
