Set on 5 acres of land, the north-facing house is modern and well equipped, and is generously proportioned and filled with light. Villa Medusa has a luxurious pool that overlooks the gardens and surrounding bushland, and a firepit where guests can enjoy stargazing at night. Where will I be?
Villa Medusa is located in the Southern Highlands town of Berrima. Historic Berrima is one the of oldest towns in the Southern Highlands circa 1831 and winner of the Australia’s Small Town Tourist Award. Berrima is an historic town full of character and charm. The town can be reached from the property via the Berrima River Walk or by walking down Old Mandemar Road for 1km. Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong are all within a 10-15 minute drive. Base yourself in this idyllic village and take some time to sip some delicious local wines, discover gorgeous riverside walks and explore the beautifully preserved Georgian heritage. There are some fantastic restaurants, wineries and establishments nearby: Bendooley Estate, Berrima Vault House, Eschalot, Joadja, and The Surveyor General Inn (built in 1834 and is Australia oldest continuously licenced Inn).

Villa Medusa is set in a rural setting that is quiet and private. The house is modern and well equipped and is very suitable for small groups or several families. Luxuries such as King beds in four bedrooms, all bedrooms with TVs, high quality linen, two fireplaces, beautiful furniture, and a media room provide the guest with a quality stay. The multiple outdoor areas are peaceful, with lawn areas that are perfect for playing games or just enjoying the solitude. The neighbouring properties have horses, sheep and other rescue animals which you are able to hand feed. Gather family and friends for a luxurious stay!
How is the property laid out?
Arrive at the property and park your car in the circular driveway. Walk through the courtyard to the front door and enter the home through the entry foyer. The hallway opens up to a light-filled open plan kitchen / casual dining and living room with fireplace. The kitchen has modern appliances including two ovens, cooktop, filtered water, and Nespresso coffee machine. Adjacent to the kitchen is a formal dining room and an additional lounge/media room with projector. All of these rooms have direct access to a covered terrace area that runs along the northern side of the house and onto the lawn. The main bedroom has a King bed and ensuite with bath, and foldback doors that lead onto a private terrace. Three more bedrooms have King beds (one with ensuite) and one with two King singles. All of the five bedrooms have TVs. The laundry is also well equipped with washing machine and dryer and direct access to the outside.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?
This property provides complimentary WiFi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. The lounge/media room has a projector that displays a large image on the wall. Please bring your own account details to login to streaming services.
Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
Villa Medusa has a beautiful pool that overlooks the garden. There are multiple outdoor areas for dining or just relaxing on the outdoor lounge and soaking up the fresh country air! The firepit is for guest's use, and firewood is provided. The property is located on the boundary of the famous Berrima River Walk.
Keeping warm or keeping cool?
The Southern Highlands has cooler temperatures in the mornings and evenings, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing.
Each bedroom has a separate electric heater and blanket for each bed. There are two wood heaters (wood is provided) and zoned ducted air conditioning. Please check that all windows and doors are closed before operating the air conditioner.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
High quality sheets and towels are provided at Villa Medusa, with a spare blanket for each bed.
Parking for cars, etc?
There is ample parking in the circular driveway for guests. At this time, the garage is not accessible to guests.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
No - Villa Medusa is not pet friendly. Please contact us for a list of our many pet-friendly options!
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Peak Season: 2 nights
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- School Holidays: 2 or 3 nights, depending on the property
- All other times: 2 nights
Is there any special information I should know about?
All external garden taps are bore water. Please do not consume water from external taps.
Help yourself to the strawberry patch!
The external driveway, garden and pool lights are on/off automatically and on timers.
Security at Villa Medusa
External security cameras are located on the grounds. There are no internal cameras. The security cameras are used as needed to ensure that the property is used for agreed purposes by the agreed number of guests.
