We invite you to stay in our luxury contemporary home, offering all the requirements for today’s modern open plan living! Les Platanes sits in a superb location within walking distance of the centre of the beautiful village of Tremolat in the heart of the Perigord Noir, with stunning uninterrupted views of the River Dordogne and beyond. The area is know as the golden triangle of the Dordogne , due to its huge wealth of attractions including fairy tale castles, caves, pre-history, beautiful bastide towns at every turn, hot air ballooning, walking and cycling and the most amazing food and restaurants.
Water skiing, kayaks and pedalos are available for hire at the Tremolat Bassin Nautique, a five minute walk from the house, and the village also boasts it’s very own mini golf with snack bar and bicycle hire, where you and your family can enjoy a fun game of golf followed by a nice glass of something cold under the shade of the trees.Tremolat is also home to four restaurants, including the best pizzeria in the area and also the renowned Vieux Logis hotel with its superb Michelin star restaurant as featured in Rick Stein’s ‘Secret France’ television series.
Enjoy a morning stroll to the village boulangerie to buy warm croissants followed by coffee in the village square, watching the world go by!
In the summer, enjoy the village night markets with visitors and locals alike, dining on regional delicacies on long trestle tables in the ancient square or enjoy a day out by train from our very own station in Tremolat, to the medieval town of Sarlat or the elegant city of Bordeaux and the surrounding wine areas including the world famous St Emilion.
After a day exploring the area or visiting one of the amazing markets, our large south west facing terrace with the swimming pool below, is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of the excellent local wines, listen to soft relaxing music through the Sonos speakers whilst watching the sun set over the shimmering waters of the river. The open plan spacious kitchen with fabulous centre island and silestone worktops, top of the range equipment and appliances and French doors onto the terrace, is the perfect space to prepare for a rustic barbecue or a gourmet dinner.
The House:
Provençal style in appearance, Les Platanes consists of a stunning open plan sitting room and formal dining area, decorated in cool muted colours and furnished with pieces we have collected over many years of living and working overseas. With large squashy sofas, TV and fireplace(decorative only) it is a very comfortable room in which to relax, and leads into the simplicity of a brand new shaker style kitchen which is fully equipped with two electric fan ovens, induction hob, combination microwave, two full size fridge freezers and a dishwasher. Double doors from the kitchen lead onto a large solid oak covered terrace, providing shade for alfresco dining on the large wooden table ( sits 8 comfortably) or enjoying a sundowner in the luxurious outdoor seating area . Wide steps lead down to the private swimming pool, large garden, a second covered terrace for a little solitude and a solar heated outdoor shower.
( Chlorine pool dimensions: 9m x 5m- depth range 1m to 1.8 m) Pool can be heated on request ( excluding July and August) at an additional charge paid locally to the property Manager.
Off the sitting room is a laundry room with washer, dryer etc leading through to a separate WC and washbasin.

Bedroom 3: simply furnished in French style stripes and checks, this room has 2 single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and lovely views of the river. Airconditioning on request. It also has sole use of the large house bathroom across the landing which comprises bath with overhead shower, WC and vanity sink.
All bathrooms benefit from beautiful tiled floors and walls, heated towel rail and large fluffy towels.
All bedrooms have crisp cotton bed linens and sumptuous feather pillows. They all also benefit from air conditioning on request at an additional cost paid locally. ( July and August only)
