The Crow's Nest on Scrag Mountain is a contemporary post & beam, pegged timber-frame home, custom built in 2005 for contemporary comfort & convenience, as well as rustic & casual country living. Crafted from local wood & stone, it is spacious & cozy, & glows with warmth & the country vibe. Close to Northfield, Waitsfield, Warren, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, Montpelier, I-89 Exit #5
We recommend the Crow’s Nest for family get-aways where the kids can run around, ski trips, gatherings of all kinds, base camp for hiking adventures, reunions, wedding parties, visiting the area for graduations, friend meet-ups, groups attending local events, even business! We can be a quiet place to escape civilization for a while, or a good place to celebrate with friends & family.
If you are planning an event, with some overnighters, & some day-guests, then please communicate in advance. Depending on the scale of the event, we may, or may not ask you to pay a nominal charge for day-guests. Additional over-nighters above the 2 people covered in the base rate have an extra guest charge of $45/night/person. If you reserve, & then later on add additional people to the group, that is fine, but, please let us know in advance, so that we can add them to the booking, & the platform here will invoice you accordingly.
Pets: We are dog friendly! The main consideration is that no dogs are to be left unattended in the house at any time, unless they are crate trained & capable of being in a crate during your absence. Please ask if we have one available, otherwise, plan on bringing one with you. Please notify us in advance.

Above the main floor, there are 2 additional levels where there are 5 bedrooms 2 with Queen size beds, & 2 with Full size beds, 1 with bunk beds, & 2 Full size couch futons in the living-room (6th bedroom). Fold-up mattresses for the floor, are available if additional sleeping arrangements are needed. Depending on how your group is configured & how the bed space is utilized, we have been able to accommodate up to 15 people at a time. Please note, that we would need to communicate regarding this, so that we can prepare accordingly. Please give us advance notice so that we can make all of the necessary arrangements so that everyone will be comfortable. We provide linens & towels for your convenience. We have DSL & wireless internet if you bring your own devices, ie computer, etc, & there is a flat screen TV here for on-line streaming. Water is hot & cold, & is plentiful straight from the mountain to the well to you. There is laundry in the basement if needed upon request, however, the basement is reserved as utility space for owner use & is not part of the rental.
This is a great country location! There is a campfire site by the small pond, & a wood/charcoal fired barbecue pit by the house for summer use. The wrap-around porch is well lit, & means inside/outside living space. The cosy environment is nice for staying warm by the fire during the cold season. There is also thermostatic heat, & well insulated comfort.
