Positive: Host Mimmo is an amazing gentleman who was incredibly helpful for the duration of our stay. The house itself is very beautiful with wonderful garden and huge patio where breakfast is served every morning. Breakfast was great, we especially enjoyed Mimmo`s fresh croissants and fresh fruit from the orchard next to the house. Room was big and comfortable, Wi-Fi was great as well. The town of Battipaglia exceeded our expectations, as we were expecting a small agricultural town, but it is actually very charming, lively, full of quality restaurants with great local food. There is quite a few large supermarkets in and around the city including Lidl, Conviene XXL. The train station in Battipaglia is very well connected and there is a parking next to it that charges 1 euro per hour. And yes, having a car in this area is a must. Salerno is a short (20 - 30) minutes drive away, and from Salerno you can get ferries or SITA busses for Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and other places along the Amalfi Coast. Mimmo recommended parking right next to Ferry Terminal - Piazza della Concordia in Salerno, which is outside the city ZTL zone and costs 2 euros per hour. There are several great beaches 15 - 30 minutes drive from the B&B and once again, thanks to Mimmo`s recommendation we especially enjoyed Lido Athena in Paestum (2 chairs and umbrella were 25 euros per day at the time of our stay). All in all, perfect holiday, a hidden gem in this part of Italy.
