Positive: We have visited this hotel for the second time, and we left with really mixed feelings this time. There were nice features which were counterweighed in every category by a disaster. POSITION: Even though it does not look like it, it is really close to the centre of Vicenza (10-15 min walking) as well as the Villa Rotonda and the Villa ai Nani. Also, it is easily accessible by car, with spacious free parking. ROOMS: Our second room was acceptable. STAFF: The reception staff were really kind, professional and helpful. BREAKFAST: Breakfast was available and edible (that is the only positive regarding breakfast).

Negative: POSITION: There is a fish shop and a fish restaurant, and the smell of rotting waste in summer can make you vomit at the parking lot. Fortunately, in the hotel and rooms, you cannot notice that smell. ROOMS: First, we got a room with a distinct mould smell and stained carpet. It was not just a feeling because it immediately triggered an allergic reaction to molud. Fortunately, our second room was without carpet. I suggest that the hotel management remove all carpets in hotels. STAFF: Hygiene and cleanliness are foreign language for the staff at breakfast. We saw her cleaning tables with a wet rag, with the same hand she moved cakes from one plate to another (yes, with a bare hand), she also cleaned the paper in the cake tray with the same rag to put croissants on that paper! The picture of a dirty salt shaker speaks for itself. If the management does not solve this issue of hygiene, I think it can be a case for local authorities sooner or later. BREAKFAST: From the time of our previous visit, it was really a downgrade. The labels telling you that you will be penalised if you do not eat everything on the plate or if you have more than two glasses of juice were quite offensive in 4* hotel. Even though I can understand the idea, it can be communicated more politely and in a more aesthetic form (see pictures). And what if I do not eat everything because it is not tasty and I do not like it? Nevertheless, I could not have more than two glasses of fresh orange juice simply because it was not available.
