Summary: We loved our stay at Da Bruno Homes! The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping to carry some luggage and show us the way to the apartment from their main hotel, providing a map and pointing out useful landmarks. The accommodation itself is in a quiet lane and near the hospital (the most beautiful I have ever seen!) which is right next to Church of San Giovanni e Paolo - and there are lovely restaurants and cafes in the square. I highly recommend dining at Trattoria Bandierette which is a short stroll from the square of the hospital and church, for its excellent food and staff. It is easy to get to Saint Mark's Square and there are plenty of walkable streets to explore. A tip for transport back to the train station which Da Bruno told us about - take the 4.1 or 5.1 ferry from F.te Nove "C" which is much closer to walk and far less busy than the ferry from Rialto! If I ever return to Venice one day I will be booking with Da Bruno Homes again.
